WENDELL C. RUDACILLE
author of Identifying Lies In Disguise
I began my law enforcement career in 1968, serving with the
U.S. Army Military Police, 9th MP Company, 9th Infantry
Division in Vietnam.

Upon return to the states in 1969, I was reassigned to the
Army Criminal Investigation Division at Ft. Dix, NJ, and
remained there as a Criminal Investigator until I separated
from the Army in 1971.

In 1973 I joined the Howard County, MD Police Department
(HCPD).  I was a Patrol Officer for 10 years and a Detective
for 10 years.  I became a Polygraph Examiner in 1987.

In 1991, I began work on
Identifying Lies In Disguise, based
on the results of a 2 year research project I conducted to
identify and document lie-related forms of verbal evasion used
by deceptive subjects in criminal investigations.

I retired from HCPD in 1992, and started my own business:
Rudacille & Associates, Inc.  I did polygraph examinations for
corporations, attorneys, and private citizens.

From 1993-2000, I also conducted seminars for law
enforcement academies and investigative agencies on the
techniques of verbal-based interviewing and interrogation I
have set forth in
Identifying Lies In Disguise.

During 2000-2003, I conducted lifestyle and
counter-intelligence polygraph examinations for the Department
of Defense.

In 2003, I returned "home" to HCPD to work as a civilian
Polygraph Examiner/Special Investigator.

Academically, I have a M.S. in Psychology.

I wrote
Identifying Lies In Disguise to provide police officers
and investigators with a way to effectively understand how
most untruthful persons lie to us indirectly using "Evasive Verbal
Responses" instead of with direct, confrontational lies.

Identifying Lies In Disguise is now in its 7th printing.

Over the years, I have received hundreds of calls, letters, and
e-mails from those of you who have read my book or attended
one of my seminars.  Your comments have been overwhelmingly
positive about how
Identifying Lies In Disguise has helped you
become a better interviewer and interrogator, and I thank you
for them.
